Spectacular Autumn

We have had marvelous fall color this year. In all the years we have been here, I don't think I've ever seen one like this. Apparently the weeks prior to all this had just the right amounts of moisture to give us a RIOT of color. Unfortunately the pictures are not nearly as bright as the actual leaves were. Hopefully you will get the idea. Enjoy…

First of all--Our own front yard. Our topiary smoke tree in the foreground, is just starting to turn, but our river birch in the background is a yellow explosion…Last Sunday morning we walked out the door to go to church at just the right time to see our little Japanese Maple fairly on fire. The sun shining through it made it just GLOW. Jim dashed back in the house and grabbed the camera so he could snap this one…

We went out and took lots of pictures along the roadways. Just a few are presented here.

Many of the burning bushes sizzled in the sunlight this year.Bradford Pear trees look like they are waving cotton-candy pom poms.I thought this looked really sweet--like a happy valley.
I selected part of the above photo to use as a banner across the top of the November RS Newsletter for our ward Relief Society.
Last month I made a banner off this picture from last year. But for some reason I couldn't post the banner itself. I don't know why the red one worked, but the yellow one won't. I can't remember what I did. Of course that never happens to anyone else…
