FAREWELL SHED!

After not posting anything since November, I really wanted to catch up. I'm really proud of myself not only for actually doing this, but for posting something that happened just YESTERDAY!

Some weeks ago we ordered a new shed for the back yard. The company that's building it offered to remove the old one for just $250, so we took them up on it! I felt a little bad about getting rid of the old girl. She's been with us a long time and was really kinda cute, but then I took a good hard look inside…
the shed was Dinky, really Dinky, and Dirty…
Deteriorating…
Dangerous…

And Damp! It really was time to let go.
A Bobcat was trucked into the yard.
He even put out a traffic cone to make sure no cars would come too close.
The Hungry BobCat ready to pounce! GOING…
GOING…
MORE GOING…
STILL GOING…
STILL MORE GOING…
MOSTLY GONE…
GONE!
REALLY GONE. (Our compost bins show in the back.)
Laying forms to pour concrete…
Using the Bobcat to start smoothing out the dirt pile.
Filling the power buggy with Reddi Mix. (I'm very glad they didn't try to drive that big truck into the yard.)
This shows a finished corner of the slab. It also shows the pile of concrete that was dumped in the yard. (They did clean that up.) The traffic cone protected our clematis plant by making it visible while the bobcat was prowling around the yard.
At the end of the day the slab was covered with Plastic…
The plastic was removed today. Now that we have a nice slab in the back yard would anyone care to square dance? The new shed comes next week. :D

Wow, I feel like you really don't tell me anything these days. I guess you did tell me to check your blog.

I used to be so scared to go get out the mower because of the wasps. I'm excited to see the new one--either in pictures or in person!

The old was a cute shed. Now you will have to post again when the new is set in place. I hope all goes well with sheds and shed owners.

Hi, K Just read your blog, beautiful! I was in So. Korea the same time your daughter was doing her mission. How ironic. Linda

Your blog is great- I really need to start doing this. And Helena is an amazing artist. I didn't know she had that talent. Wow, I love the sketches of her kids she did. Her pencil drawings really are amazing- if we can covet the best gifts- that is certainly one I covet. What a wonderful talent.

I looked at your blog and some of the kids blogs. So, Helena has 2 kids, and Peter and Karen have 2 as of last fall? Barbara also has 2, as of this past spring. That leaves Betsey and her pup, and of course, Kirsten.

It was fun to see all the blogs. Helena's and Barbara's are particularly fun to look at. You need to post a picture of your new shed!

love, Sharon
