PICTURES OF ANDY

Helena's baby made his appearance last Saturday. We're so glad he's here and arrived safely. Betsey said she just knew that he would be born on Kate's birthday. :-)

Here is Helena's short version of the birth story: Anders Alfred, born at 2:18 AM on Saturday, December 27th, 2008; 6 pounds 5.8 ounces, 19" long (probably). Yes, he was born on Kate's birthday. I'd mentioned how similar the timing was with the two pregnancies, and we knew they were going to be close, but somehow I hadn't really considered that he might come on the same day. Hopefully they won't mind sharing a birthday!

We're calling him Andy. Anders is the Scandinavian version of Andrew (that's with an "ah" sound as in "father"). We have Anders(es) on both sides of the family. And Alfred is for Doug's dad, of course, who passed away just two months ago. For her longer version and more pictures click here.
And here is more about this sweet little boy:
Welcome little man.
What are you thinking?
There seems to be such wisdom in those eyes.
What can you see that we cannot?
What do you remember that we have forgotten?
What could you tell us if you could only speak?

Getting acquainted with Big Sister Kate.
Little brothers cry sometimes…
Tender Moments.
Goodbye for now, little one. We hope to see you soon.

Your Blog is Fantastic, and I love the Idea that little 'Andy' had a Pre-arranged plan for being a Birthday Present...
Actually She will ALWAYS have to treat him very nice, since He was a Present, huh...

That way No competition...Just joyous sharing...

I've gotta tell ya...You Grandparents really are lookin' good...You have the Drill down pat, and look very comfortable in your activities...

Thanks for including me in your sharing,
Love,
Toni

Wow! i've never met Helena, but i'm so so so excited she was able to have another baby. I thought i remembered you telling me you didn't think she would be able to have any more, but everyone felt blessed she'd had one. I really like Helena through pictures and her blog posts and tell her congratulations for me.

To Lesli,

It took them 8 years to have Kate. Helena had to get on Metformin in order to have her. Andy, however, choose to show up on his own.:-)

Congrats to Poppy and Nana! Good Grief, but your side of the clan is exploding!

Not sure I am able to figure out whom belongs to whom! (please note the correct grammar, especially for an aggie!) Let alone remember, since I am a septuagenarian! Almost need a pedigree chart there are so many of you all. Must be the cold weather since it can't be the water since the water is frozen! Anyhow, Happy New Year!

Wow, cute baby! Its nice to scroll through and see how everyone looks, and how they are doing. Looks like you made nothing but great kids, and by the way the pic you liked with Barbie braiding Betsy's hair is awesome!! Hope everything is going well for you, and thanks again for coming to the open house, it really does mean a lot to me.
